cld: grammar Flashcards
Why is grammar so hard
Irregular
Poverty of stimulus
Over generalisation
What did brown propose about morphemes
Children acquire morphemes at a similar rate this shows that grammar development is systematic. Did this study with down syndrome kids, and despite them producing 10 words 12 months later than typically developing children , still acquired morphemes at a similar rate- universal grammar. it could be suggested that once language “took off” in the children with Down syndrome, they were acquiring the rules at a similar rate to typically developing children.
