–Spastic paralysis - lower limbs
–Faccid paralysis - upper limbs
–Increased tone and reflexes
ALS
Dorsal column is SPARED
everything else is BILATERAL
Anterior Spinal Artery Occluion
Vit B12 - pernicious anemia - AIDS
Demyelination of dorsal column and corticospinal tracts
Subacute Combined Degeneration
Cavitation of cord - cervical
Biilateral loss of pain and temp at level of lesion
As it progresses, it gets to ventral horns (flaccid paralysis and atrophy)
Syringomyelia
Dorsal cord - ipsilateral loss of position or vibration at and BELOW lesion
Spinothalamic tract - contralateral loss of pain and temp below lesion and BILATERAL at level of lesion
CST and LMN affected too - ipsilateral
Hemisection
BROWN Sequard syndrome
