General characteristics of class trematoda
A
- Body dorsoventrally flat
- Cuticle may be smooth or spiny
- Organs are embedded in the parenchyma
- Suckers for attachment are present
- Present alimentary alimentary anal which consists of mouth,pharynx,esophagus, and intestinal ceca; the anus is absent
- Excretory system consists of flame cells, excretory ducts, and excretory bladder
- Hermaphroditic except schistosomes ‘which are unisexual’
- Life cycle may be direct or indirect
