What things should you do to take a shade?
- ask patient to remove lipstick
- place a light blue or grey bib over the patients clothes
- select shade at start of appointment
- remove staining on adjacent tooth
- get good light - daylight
- place shade guide at arms length from your eyes
- place guide along natural dentition
only look for a few seconds to avoid fatigue
- use correct guide for material
- check with nurse

bright and more opaque
