What should the ph level of the stomach juices be? What are e methods of tube management?
A
Between 0 and 4 (4-6 if receiving acid-inhibiting agents)
Don’t obtain fluid assessment if less than 1 hour after feeding
Don’t use ph paper of patient on continuous feeding or food color has been added to the formula
Aspirate 5 to 10 ml of gastric secretions
Test with ph paper within 30 seconds
