Pro social behaviour

A

volunterirly helping somone to benefit them
babys prefer helperers then hinderers

14+ months spontaneous helping behaviour increases
provinding rewards for it could actually be negetive because its a natural thing the child loves to do but they might start doing it only for the reward

by 18+ months they will show sympethetic distress they will get stressed when they see somone in distress

childrens sharing behaviour increases from early school age but will share with whoever they are closest with

pre 7 year old kids only want to self benefit after 7 they dont care on sharing even if they lose out

moral behaviours increase through positive reinforcement

authoritive parents leads to increased internalized concious

mutually responsive parenting equals to commited compliance

punishment most effective when provided with warmth and rationale reasoning

3 levels of morale reasoning

A

preconventional (stage 1-2) thinking about the consequnce for example speeding to hospital. 1.centred on self obeying rules and authority to avoid punishment egocentric perspective bring reward or satisffy personal objective to serve own interests

conventional (stage 3-4) based on social rules, centred on relationship things that bring reward or satisffy personal objective to serve own interests

  1. good girl good boy phase to be seen as good or to do the right thing
  2. keeping society working smoothly doesnt matter the punishment but holds value to keeping laws and rules

post conventional ( 5-6) self chosen principles , judgements based on values

5.keep up with laws but only if they are justice and up with moral values
rejecting laws if it goes against morals and values.
