- IC must transmit strategy(offensive or defensive) that will be used, and any changes to strategy
- Before opening line, officers must transmit to IC location and direction of travel with line
- Responding BCs must acknowledge (repeat) all initial reports and actions by initial IC
- Officers must notify IC or any significant change in the location of their line
- Personnel on nozzle must be cognizant of the effect of heir stream placement on others
