All three civilizations believed in something of a higher power. Mesopotamia and Egypt were polytheistic, while Israel was monotheistic. In some of the stories we learned about, some civilizations crossed into one of the other territories. For example, Moses led the Jews out of Egypt and back to Israel. As well, these civilizations heavily relied on the resources they had to build themselves from the group up into the empires they made themselves to be.
