What does EEOE/EEOC stand for and what are some mandatory requirements for an EEOC
EEOE/EEOC stands for Equal Employment Opportunity Employer/Commission.
- Must be Neutral. Unbiased towards member or organization.
- Violation must apply to a protected category
Sexual Assault VS. Sexual Harassment.
- Sexual Assault is Physical (i.e. unwanted touching) a mandated CGIS “Unrestricted” report is required if command is notified.
- Sexual Harassment is action that is of a perceived sexual nature. This can be classified and a “Restricted” report may be filed.
What is the most important thing to remember in regards to reporting a complaint to the EEOE
- It has to be a Protected category
- Has to be Timely
a. Member 45 Days
b. Command 15 Days
c. Consular 30 Days
d. Extension 180 Days
** Command and Consular are informal resolutions and are recommended to resolve at the lowest level.
What is AHHI?
Anti-Harassment Hate Incident Policy (COMDINST 5354.D).
Normally SOP 1st step after receiving a report.
Required by command when made aware of a hate or harassment incident (against a protected class).
Hate vs. Harassment
Hate is intentional misconduct towards a individual based on their protected status (i.e. race or Sexual orientation)
