European court of justice Supreme Court Court of appeal (civil division) High court County court
Jurisdiction:
All contract and tort claims
All cases for the recovery of the land
Disputes over equitable matters, such as, trusts up to a value of £350,000
Pre-trial procedure:
Anything that happens before you go to court
E.g. File the case, paying appropriate fees, building of the case

Woolf reforms and their effect:
Report: access to justice act 1999, civil procedure rules 1999
Wanted the civil justice system to be reformed
Appeal routes:
You can go up from the county court to the high court and then jump to the Supreme Court from the leapfrog

Settling disputes online and through IT

Advantages:
The outcome is always fair
Disadvantages:
It can cost a lot of money
They can become very long
