Circulatory System : Cardiac Cycle Flashcards
Where will the blood enter the heart?
Vena Cava
What type of blood will enter the heart via the Vena Cava?
Deoxygenated
Where will the deoxygenated blood go after entering via the Vena Cava?
Right Atrium
What happens after the blood enters the Right Atrium?
Atria contracts pushing blood into ventricles, through tricuspid valve
What does the tricuspid valve prevent?
Backflow
What does the tricuspid valve do after the blood has gone into the ventricles?
Closes
Where will blood go after the tricuspid valve?
Right Ventricle
What will the right ventricle do with the blood?
The right ventricle will contract after the atria then forcing the blood out of the heart.
After the Right Ventricle contracts where will the blood go?
Pulmonary Artery
Where will the pulmonary artery take the blood?
Lungs
What does the lungs do to the blood?
Oxygenates it
How does the oxygenated blood enter the heart again?
Via the Pulmonary Vein
Where does the Pulmonary Vein lead the blood?
Left Atrium
Where does the blood go after entering the left atrium?
Atria contracts pushing the blood down via the Bicuspid Valve
What does the Bicuspid valve do after the blood goes down?
Closes
