Describe red blood cells
A
- biconcave disc shape to absorbs more oxygen
- contains red pigment called haemoglobin
- dont have a nucleus
- haemoglobin + oxygen = oxyhaemoglobin (in the lungs)
- oxyhaemoglobin - oxygen = haemoglobin and oxygen (in body tissue)

A
-they have a nucleus

Describe platelets
A
- small fragments of cells
- no nucleus
- they stop blood pouring out and microorganisms getting in a wound
- lack of it causes bleeding and bruises

A
contains:
- red and white blood cells and platelets
- CO2, glucose and amino acids
