What is the main treatment for circulation problems?
A
Treat the underlying causes of circulatory failure
Give IV fluids to treat hypovolaemia

How do you recognise an unstable angina?
A
Unprovoked and prolonged episode of chest pain
No definite ECG or lab evidence of AMI

How do recognise a NSTEMI?
A
Chest pain suggestive of AMI
Less specific ECG abnormalities
History of suggestive of ACS
Lab tests showing substantial release of troponin

How do you recognise a STEMI?
A
A history of sustained acute chest pain typical of AMI with acute ST segment elevation on 12 lead ECG

How do you treat acute coronary syndromes?
A
Aspirin 300mg (oral, crushed or chewed) Nitroglycerine (tablet or spray) Oxygen Pain relief (IV morphine or diamorphine) Anti emetic Further treatment: thrombolysis or coronary angiography and stenting
