Circuits 1 Flashcards
What is electric current in solid metallic conductors?
It is a flow of negatively charged electrons
What is Current?
The rate of flow of charge
What is Voltage?
The energy transferred per unit charge passed
The same number of electrons that goes into a circuit =
= The same number of electrons on the way out
CURRENT IS SPLIT AT A JUNCTION AND THEREFORE IS NOT THE SAME EVERYWHERE IN A PARALLEL CIRCUIT BUT IS IN A SERIES CIRCUIT
CURRENT IS SPLIT AT A JUNCTION AND THEREFORE IS NOT THE SAME EVERYWHERE IN A PARALLEL CIRCUIT BUT IS IN A SERIES CIRCUIT
What is the volt?
A joule per Coulomb
Give two examples of things that can be used to show that there is current in a circuit:
Lamp
LED
As the number of components increases
The current decreases and the resistance increases
As the number of batteries increases
The current increases and the resistance stay the same
