Q
Why does an object reach terminal velocity?
A
When an object is falling, a downwards force is acting on the object due to gravitational forces
This causes it to accelerate
As the object accelerates, the air resistance increases
Eventually the force due to gravity is balanced by the air resistance
So the object is now falling at a constant speed
This constant speed is the terminal velocity of this object
