Ans : It amends the Cinematograph Act 1952, enacted to make provisions for certifying Cinematograph films for exhibition and regulating exhibitions using cinematographs.
- Act provides for establishing the central board of film certification ( CBFC) for certifying films for exhibition .

Ans : 1. Age-Based Certification : 3 age based certification under ‘UA’ category - ‘UA 7+’, ‘UA 13+’ and ‘UA 16+’ ; are only recommendatory.

3. Certificates to be perpetually valid as opposed to yh present validity of 10 years.
4. Revisional powers of central government; Earlier in KM shankarappa Case, 2000 centre cannot excercise revisional powers on films already certified by the CBFC.
5. Makes film piracy a punishable offence .

Ans : The bill tends to address the existing problems faced by the film industry and regulates the content by new certification categories.
