Congestive Heart Failure
Heart muscles does not pump blood as well as it should. This can cause shortness of breath, edema in abdomen, legs, feet, fatigue.
Special considerations for pts:
-more sob than usual
-weight gain
-inadequate blood pressures, uneven ranges
-swelling in feet, legs swollen and cyanotic
Coronary artery disease (CAD)
Caused by build up of fatty substances (plaque) in arteries that supply blood to the heart. Treatments for CAD can include medications, coronary stent, coronary ballon angioplasty, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
Special considerations:
-cheat pain (heaviness tightness pressure)
-shortness of breath
-weight gain
-swollen limbs
Hypertension: special considerations
-always recheck if it is out of normal range from the usual ranges.
-if they took their medication this morning
-chest pain
-sob
-accurate vital signs
Diabetes mellitus: special considerations
-hypoglycemia *shaky confused sweating drowsiness and nervousness
-hypoglycemia *frequent urination, thirsty, confusion, blurred vision, fruity breath
-retina scans
-provide pw over good diabetic health
