What is duplication?
A
When genes from one homologous chromosome are moved into the other, creating duplication of the gene on the chromosome. Occasionally the second copy of the gene could become altered and provide new DNA sequences. This type of duplication is thought to be a driving force in evolution

When gene(s) are deleted from the chromosome

A
When a section of a chromosome is added to a chromosome, not its homologous partner
