Why is God often referred to as ‘him’ or ‘he’?
A
- The bible was written in a majority patriarchal, sexist, misogynistic period and time. The primary authors were men.
- As Jesus didn’t have a father, God is seen his father. As fathers are usually male, the concept of God is viewed as being male.
