What happens at the beginning?
A
The Pallbearers bring the coffin to the front of the church. The priest says a few Bible verses and then welcomes people. Starts the service with a general opening prayer and sings a hymn.

What also happens?
A
A eulogy is said by various people in order for the person’s life to be remembered. Sometimes the family gathers around the coffin and lays flowers on top of it. Next is the Commital and the coffin is either lowered into the ground at a graveside or cremated. Then the priest says a commital prayer.

What do Christians believe has happened to the dead person?
A
They believe their soul has gone to heaven to be with Jesus and there is hope because one day, they’ll see that person again.
