- god creates the world in 6 days and rests on the 7th
the order of creation is:

What is evangelism?
preaching the gospel to others with the intention of converting others to the christian faith- mission of the church
Why do Christians believe in evangelism?
-following Jesus’s word- “Go then to all the peoples everywhere and make them my followers”
- meaning of the Pentecost- spoke in different languages
- without it Christianity can’t grow
Why do some Christians not evangelise?
- Liberals believe that all religions are the same path to god
- it may not be the most loving thing to do
How do Christians evangelise?
- through the way they live
- publicly preaching the gospel
Describe recent church growth
- attendance to CofE and catholic church services has reached an all time low
- Evangelical services have become more popular
- In other parts of the world, christianity is spreading very successfully
What is the world council of churches?
aims to bring churches together
- came about after WW1 which saw devastation to human kind
- they thought if they worked together across the world they could spread peace and avoid waar
- they hold a special week of prayer for christian unity
What are the three different types of worship?
- liturgical worship
- informal worship
- individual worship
Describe liturgical worship
- has a set pattern to it and it follows the set pattern every time
for example- mass, holy communion
ends with “may the blessing of the lord be upon you”
Describe informal worship
- in Pentecostal churches
- no set pattern uses holy spirit to guide them in worship
- i.e quakers - sing or dance however it reflects you
Describe individual worship
christians believe that Jesus instructed them to worship on their own
How do Christians believe Jesus saved them?
- by teaching them the perfect way to live through his teachings
- by being a sacrifice for Adam and Eve
- by bringing humans back to God through his death
What is meant by atonement?
means to make one- Jesus made humans on with God again after Adam’s sin
Why do christians believe in atonement?
- when Adam and Eve sinned, they broke the relationship between humans and god
- Jesus was sent to repair this relationship and took punishment for human sin
- Jesus allowed humans to go to heaven
Why is atonement important?
- brings humans back to god
- atonement fulfils old testament prophecy
- shows god’s forgiveness
Describe the origin of Taize
- started in France the 1940s
- made unpopular in France due to giving food to the German prisoners
- seven men took monastic vows and started a community which now has 80 monks from Catholic, Anglican and Orthodox
Why is taize ecumenical?
means representing or promoting unity within the different christian churches
What happens at Taize?
- pilgrims join the life of monks
- follow set times of prayer in Church of reconciliation
- ## spend time in private prayer
