What does the immortality of the soul state?
The soul is immortal and won’t die Their soul goes to heaven when they die
Why do Christians believe in the resurrection of the body?
Jesus body physically rose, Paul taught people will have a resurrection like Jesus and The Creeds state they believe in the resurrection
Why would a Christian believe that there is no form of hell?
Because they find it hard to believe that good people from other religions will go there. They also believe God will show mercy due to omnibenevolence
What does Marx believe about the afterlife?
It is an idea created by the rich to comfort the poor
What does Freud believe about the afterlife?
Heaven was created to comfort and reassure ourselves
What is salvation?
Deliverance from sin and its consequences
What is grace?
The unconditional love that God shows, even when it is not deserved
What are the 2 ways believed to receive salvation?
Through grace and good works
What is atonement?
The restoration of the relationship between people and God through Jesus
How may the crucifixion influence Christians?
Gives them hope for eternal life as he ascended and it shows his divinity
What 3 things does the Trinity describe?
How there is only one God, how the 3 persons of the Trinity are not the same and how the 3 persons of the Trinity is fully God
What is the incarnation?
Jesus being God made man
What is the significance of the resurrection and ascension?
Resurrection shows the power of good over evil, resurrection allows Christians not to fear death and the ascension reveals Jesus is with God, so paves a way for the Holy Spirit to comfort Christians
