Jesus approved of drinking of wine as He performed a miracle turning water in to wine.
‘water … had been turned in to wine’ (John 2)

A

Important part of the Holy Sacrament of Communion and so allows Christians to be close to God. At Mass, wine is turned in to the blood of Christ and drunk.

Alcohol in moderation is acceptable.
