What is Cholera?
Cholera is an infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated. It is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae.
What are the symptoms of Cholera?
Profuse watery diarrhea
Vomiting
Leg cramps
How do you get Cholera?
By drinking water or eating contaminated food.
In an epidemic.
In a disease that can spread rapidly.
The bacteria may live in areas such as brackish rivers and coastal waters.
What do you do to avoid getting Cholera?
Drink only water that you have boiled.
Or instead drink tea or coffee
Eat only foods that you have cooked yourself.
Can Cholera be cured?
Cholera can be simply treated by immediate replacement of the fluid and salts lost through diarrhea.
