What is in-toeing?
condition where children stand with their feet pointing inwards
What can cause in-toeing?
femoral neck anteversion - in the fetus the femoral neck is in a more anterior position.
tibial torsion - the tibia is distorted along its vertical axis
abnormal forefeet - particularly adducted forefeet.
What are flat feet?
a normal variation of foot arch shape which rarely causes functional abnormalities
What are the two kinds of flat feet and which is more common?
rigid/mobile
mobile is more common and is innocuous.
When does the arch of the foot usually form by?
age 7
What are curly toes?
toes which overlap/crossover other toes - particularly the 5th toe. Most correct and should be left alone. Surgery should be discouraged
