FOUR-STEP TREATMENT STRATEGY FOR BLEEDING
- Harmonize blood: stop bleeding, eliminate stasis, calm the blood, nourish blood
- Treat root cause of bleeding:
- Heat or Fire (may be external pathogen or generated by improper diet or extreme emotions turning to heat or chronic illness damage yin so def heat flares up): forcing
blood to rush out of the vessels or damaging the vessels→ extravasation –> hemorrhage
- Qi Deficiency: failure of blood being controlled & kept in vessels by qi –> hemorrhage
- failure of qi to promote blood movement –> blood stasis blocks vessel→ hemorrhage from side of vessel.
- Astringe
- Treat Qi: relieve deficiency or stasis
LIN SYNDROME (URINARY STRANGURY) \: western med correspondence
Acute or chronic UTI to (cystitis, urethritis)
Prostatitis
Urinary renal calculi
Neoplasms of the bladder, prostate, and urethra
LIN SYNDROME (URINARY STRANGURY): pathogenesis
Damp Heat in the Urinary Bladder:
- overeating greasy or spicy food or alcohol indulgence → damp heataccumulation descends to bladder → stranguria
- unclean genitals → tubid pathogenic factors → stranguria
Deficiency of both Spleen & Kidney:
- prolonged stranguria → consumes vital qi → excess syndrome becomes deficiency
- weak constitution, old person, or overindulgence in sex → def of SP & KD → SP fails to raise the clear qi and KD fails to control the urine
Stagnation of Liver Qi:
- Anger → stagnates LR qi → transforms into fire → fire accumulates in lower jiao→ stranguria
