What are the secondary infection of the Chicken Pox?
*The 2nd infection is Shingles ( Herpes zooster ) reactivation of VZV when immune system fails in elderly.

The primary infection is Varicella

What is the Clinical signs the Chicken Pox ( VZV ) ?
- Incubation 10-23 days
- Vascular rash in scalp , head , and trunk which progress to extremities
- fever
- headache, fatigue, sore throat, Purities ( itching)
- vesicles turn pustular , forma xrust . Scab and then heals
- vesicular Pustular rash including oral mucosal ulcers
What are the clinical signs of the secondary infection that causes the chicken Pox ( Shingles ) ?
1) vesicular pustular innervated by sensory neurons from one dorsal root.
2) pain
Increase in frequently with age 50% of population will have Shingles by age of 85
How you diagnosed the chicken pox?
clinically diagnosis
How you treat The chicken pox infection If not serious complications occurs ?
1) Supportive care
- antihistamines for itching
- drying agents to sooth the skin
- antipyretic for fever
- fluid and electrolytes to prevent dehydration
- monitor and treat 2nd bacterial infection if any
How you treat the chicken pox infection for serious complications? Such as ( Neonatal infection ) rare suchlike ( hemorrhagic, Encephalitis)
1) Oral or IV Acyclovir
2) Varicella vaccination post exposure ( not effective if after 5 days after exposure)
How you prevent Chicken Pox?
1) Avoid contact with infected
2) regular hand washing
3) excellent personal hygiene ( cover mouth when coughing & sneezing)
4) Vaccination ( Varivsx for children)
5) Herpes Zooster Vaccine ( Zostavax) for 69 years ago older and above
