Very black (air)
Very quiet over the area of pneumothorax
Caused by fast growth, trauma, insertion of line, bullae in emphysema

Extra vascular water in the lungs
Bilateral fleecy opacities (butterfly shadows)
Crackles
Caused by fluid overload, osmotic pressure changes, heart failure
