Paper chromatography method

A
  • use pencil to draw baseline bottom of C paper
  • Use capillary tube placed concentrated spot of substance on baseline
  • Place paper in beaker with solvent at bottom, ensure base line is above level of solvent
  • Allow solvent to travel up paper
  • When solvent is near top, take paper out, Mark level reached by solvent
  • Leave able to dry
  • dif. Components in mixture seen as spots
