How do you make salts ? ( 4 steps)

Answer 1

1. Fill beaker with fixed volume of dilute [ acid ]
2. Gently heat acid until almost boiling and then add small amounts of [ oxide / hydroxide / dioxide / carbonate]
3. Stir solution with glass rod and keep on adding excess until metal has reacted completely with acid.
4. To remove unwanted metal - pour solution through filter paper and the components will separate.

Question 2

How to make crystals from the formation of salts?

Answer 2

• place solution into evaporating basin and heat gently above beaker of boiling water.
  -heat until around 1/2 of the solution remains.
• leave for 2 hours in a cool place for crystals to form.
  -scrape crystals onto paper towel and pat them dry gently.
