EXAMPLE
-
My aviation history started in 2010
I did my private pilot’s flight training in a Cessna 152, in Sao Paulo - After that, in 2012
I got my commercial pilot’s license with instrument and multi-engine ratings - Then,
I became a flight instructor. I have worked as a CFI for 2 years. - And in 2015,
I joined LATAM, flying an A320 as a copilot. - 7 years later
I became a captain. I’ve been flying as a captain for 2 years. - I intend to fly a B777 in the future.
Adapt to your reality
What was the first aircraft you flew?
✈️
- The first aircraft I flew was a _______
- It’s a _______ - wing, _______- engine aircraft, powered by a _______.
- It has a ________ landing gear and capacity for _______ people.
- The maximum altitude is around _______ ft and the cruise speed is _______ kt.
- It is used for _______.

- It has landing gears/skids and capacity for _______ people.
- The maximum altitude is around _______ ft and the cruise speed is _______ kt.
- It is used for _______.
Describe this aircraft (a320)
Don’t worry about being specific.
- The A320 is a low-wing, twin-engine aircraft, powered by 2 turbofan engines.
- It has a retractable landing gear and capacity for around 160 people.
- The maximum altitude is around FL400 and the cruise speed is about Mach .78
- It is used for passenger and cargo transportation.
Describe the airport you operate the most.
- The airport I operate the most is ________. (name)
- It is a ________ airport. (regional / domestic / International)
- It has a ________ and _______ runway. (long, short / paved, unpaved)
- The controllers are _________. (good, efficient) // or It is Non-towered.

Adapt to your reality.
What do you normally do before your flight?
- Before a flight I normally:
- Gather the flight documents;
- I Study the weather forecast;
- Read the Notams;
- I Do a briefing;
- Perform the walkaround;
- Prepare the cockpit.
What is the most important part of the preflight procedure?
- For me, the most important part of the preflight procedure is the briefing.
- Because, during the briefing we discuss:
- The weather conditions;
- The Route;
- The Flight duration;
- And Possible problems;
- Then, we make some adjustments for the flight and prepare the aircraft
Try practicing with (walkaround)
What do you check during the walkaround?
During the walkaround, I check:
- The airplane’s structure and see if there are any damages;
- I inspect the tire’s inflation;
- Check the wings, leading and trailing edges;
- Verify the fuel and oil levels;
- See the pitot tube and ports;
- Finally, I check the engines intake and the blades.
For which reasons would you cancel a flight?
I would cancel a flight for many reasons, for example:
- Bad weather, like strong winds or poor visibility;
- Structural damage;
- System malfunction;
- NOTAM in my origin or destination airport;
- Medical problem with a crew member.
Describe your favorite aircraft.
