Checkirde Overview Flashcards
Where can you find your annual, VOR, and 100 Hour Inspection?
- The blue maintenance binder
How do you find your basic empty weight?
- POH
- Chapter 6
How do you get the arm of your aircraft?
- Divide the moment by the weight
How do find the CG of your aircraft?
What altitude do the performance charts use? Pressure or Density Altitude?
- Pressure Altitude
Do the performance charts take into account moisture?
- No, they do not.
Can you fly if your CG is outside of the envelope?
- No, you cannot.
What is the formula for Pressure Altitude?
What is the formula for Density Altitude?
What are the required inspections for your aircraft?
- A. V. 1. A. T. E.
Can an annual inspection replace a 100 hour inspection?
- Yes, because an IA signs of on it instead of an A&P.
- They are more trained and qualified to perform the inspection.
Can a 100 hour inspection replace an annual inspection?
- No, because an A&P signs off on it.
- They are less trained and qualified
What are the required documents for our aircraft?
- A.R.O.W
- External Data Plate
- DON’T MENTION RADIO LICENSE
Your landing light is inoperative. Can you fly today?
- Ask if it is for DAY or NIGHT
- Yes, you may fly if it is marked inoperative and you have done the INOP flow.
How would you mark the plane as inoperative? What’s the reg. Number?
A - Is it airworthy?
T - Is it on the TCDS?
A - Is it required by an Airworthiness Directive?
P - Is it in the POH?
E - Is it on the minimum equipment list? (We don’t have one for the archer)
R - Is it in the Regulations?
P - Has it been placarded?
D - Has it been deactivated?
L - Has it been logged?
L - Is it legal?
- The reg. Number is 91.205
If there was a runway that was 1,500’ long and you had a 1,500’ takeoff roll, would you take off?
- No, the runway length should be at least double that if not more.
You are taking off runway 14 and it’s humid. Are you going to have good performance or bad performance?
- Bad Performance
You are taking off runway 14 and you have a higher-than-normal altimeter setting. What will your performance be like?
- It will be better
It’s cold outside right now. What will your performance be like?
- It will be better
Is our performance better at 2,500’ or 5,500’?
- 2,500’ because the air is more dense and closer to the surface.
Is our fuel economy better at low altitudes or high altitudes?
- It is better at high altitudes because the air is less dense which means you need less mixture (Fuel/air)
You are flying and have a headwind. Is your performance increased or decreased?
- Increased
You have visible moisture in the air. What is your performance like?
- Performance will be worse
What is the maximum demonstrated crosswind for the archer?
- 17 KIAS
Where do you find your True Airspeed (TAS)?
- Performance Chart in the POH
How did you get your Gallons burned per hour?
- Performance Chart in the POH
What is rain that falls but doesn’t hit the surface? What does it indicate?
- Virga
- It indicates a microburst
You are flying to Nachododges and you see clouds at 2,000’. Are you going to fly above these clouds?
- No, I would fly below them because I always need to be able to see the ground (VFR)
