- Main events of Dickens childhood
-Born in 1812 (Portsmouth)
-Dad got arrested he had to work in a blacking factory
-Dad got released –) studied in London
-15 years old worked for a lawyer as an office boy
-became a shorthand reporter of parliamentary debates in the House of Commons=) career as a reporter for newspaper
- What was his pen name and in what occasion did he use it?
His pen name was “Boz” and he used it to publish his first work “sketches by Boz” which was a collection of stories describing London people and scenes.
It was followed by Pickwick Papers which revealed his humanistic and satirical qualities.
3.What country didi he visit and what did he speak against ?
Canada where he spoke in favor of the abolition of slavery and international copyright.

-showed an intimate knowledge of the city
-gradually started to criticize his society, but he never became a revolutionary thinker
-Became really good at drawing the city with al its bad sides and abuses

-always on the poor s side
-Children are the most important=) usually opposites to adult who are vile and evil =) he uses them as models to how people should behave with one another

To spread awareness to the wealthier classes, but not to cause rebellion or discontent

he used a very effective language and accomplished the most graphic and powerful descriptions of events and characters.
