How did VIII’s reign differ from VII’s?
A
- There was a renewed emphasis on governing through the council between 1529-32 and 1540-47
- Ruling was relied upon by chief ministers. The first being Thomas Wolsey (adept at using the star chamber) and then Thomas Cromwell (developed his role as principal secretary).
