(ch 1)Provide a definition of Consumer Behaviour?
The process involved when individuals or groups select, purchase, use, or dispose of products, services, ideas, or experiences to satisfy needs and desires
(ch 2)How does the sense of touch influence consumers reaction to products?
-Consumers who are able to touch and hold a product are able to form a ‘bond’ with the product and create an attachment for the product.-Some purchasers feel more comfortable about making the purchase after they physically examine a product.
(ch3) Define Nostalgia and explain why it is such a widely used advertising strategy?
Nostalgia: A bittersweet emotion where the past iss viewed with sadness and longing. Many ‘classic’ products appeal to consumers memories of their younger days.This works very well because a lot of adult consumers believe that things in the past were a lot better then they are today. Marketers are able to reestablish an old connection by using old songs, pictures or brands they have not been exposed to in a while.
(ch 4) What are some strategies that marketers can use to increase consumers involvement with products?
-Have contests like designing a chip flavor (what we talked about in class)-Ask for feed back, or what consumers would like to see-Making a product customizable -Being able to try Beta versions of a video game.
