The different types of relationships
General types of relationships:
Role relationships (behavioral interdependence; functional, casual and often temporary)
Interpersonal relationships (mutual influence, unique interaction patterns)
Close relationships (emotional attachment; need fulfillment; irreplaceability)
What is a relationship
Ongoing interactions between people that result in interpersonal, affective, and behavioral connections
Interpersonal communication
describes the process whereby people exchange messages in different types of relationships.
Interpersonal communication consists of a variety of nonverbal and verbal messages that can be exchanged through various channels, including face-to-face and computer-mediated channels.
