goal
a desired aim or outcome; something that you are trying to achieve
SMARTER
specific, measurable, agreed, realistic, time-phased, exciting, recorded
motivation
the desire required to be successful
intrinsic motivation
the motivation that comes within yourself simply by enjoying
extrinsic motivation
the motivation that comes from outsides like prizes, trophies, and fame.
incentive
something that motivates or encourage someone to do something
arousal
an increased level of mental excitement and alertness; the state of being excited, keen and mentally and physically ready to perform.
arousal level too high
You feel anxious or stressed. May make a mistake.
arousal level too low
you will not be excited or focused enough to perform at the level required
anxiety
a performer’s negative reaction to stress, causing them to feel worried or nervous.
cognitive anxiety
the mental symptoms that a performer feel such as fear worry and doubt.
somatic anxiety
physical signs of anxiety such as butterflies in the stomach, sweaty palms, increased breathing.
mental rehearsal
running through a skill, sequence or event in your mind, in detail, using all your senses.
visualization
seeing the best positive outcome for the skill/technique you are about to perform
introvert
a quiet, shy reserved personality type; associated with individual sports( archery, swimming)
