Define three types of muscles.
Skeletal Muscles
Smooth Muscles
Cardiac Muscles
Skeletal Muscles
Attached to bones and can be controlled by choice, they are also known as voluntary muscles. They generally attached to bones and have a striated appearance.
eg. limbs such as arms and legs
Smooth Muscles
Found in the walls of the viscera, such as the stomach. It can also be found in tubes and passageways such as the bronchioles (breathing passages) and blood vessels. They are involuntary and nonstriated.
Cardiac Muscles
Only found in the heart where its main role is to pump blood throughout the body. They contain intercalated disc and are classified as striated and involuntary muscles.
Viscera
Large internal organs in the body cavity, especially in the abdominal cavity.
Striated
Composed of proteins and have a striped appearance.
