Mental Disorders among criminal offenders: excluding substance and personality disorders = 15-25% inmates; depression is most widespread - might be affect not cause
Criminal Behaviour among Psychiatric Patients: former psychiatric patients have higher rates of criminality especially violent; however without substance use there’s not much difference
Mental Disorders and crime in Community Samples: (typically biased) those who have been to psychiatric hospital more likely to have criminal record

Co-morbidity (stacking mental disorders); a mental disorder with substance use; their social status (poverty and other social disadvantage contribute to crime; contributes to mental disorders); victimization (those with mental disorders are more likely to be victims in a crime; they might be modelling or have more fear contributing to crime)
