Q

Water Drive

A

Energy comes from expansion of water or water drive may be a result of artesian flow from an outcrop.

Pressure - Remains high
G/O Ratio - Steady
Water Production - Increased
Well Behaviour - Flow until water pro gets excessive
Highest oil recovery.

Q

Solution Gas Drive

A

Pressure drop forcing gas out of oil. Resulting gas expansion forces oil out.
Pressure - Declines rapidly
G/O Ratio - Rises to max then drops
Pro Rate - Initially high then drops
Water Pro - None
Well behaviour - requires artificial lift

Q

Gas Cap Drive

A

Oil that has came out of solution has segrgreted and formed a gas cap.

RP - Falls slowly
G/O Ratio - Rises continuously
PR- First high then declines
WP- Absent
WB-long life depending on size
