On Holy Thursday,
What did Jesus do to the disciples?
Jesus washed their feet. This surprised them, but he insisted. He was showing them that being a disciple meant serving others.
What did he tell them?
He then told them someone was going to betray him. The disciples would not believe him, but Jesus knew it was Judas.
What did he do with the bread?
He took a piece of bread, gave thanks and said,’This is my body, which is given up for you. Do this in memory of me.’ In the same way he gave them the cup saying,’ This cup is God’s new covenant sealed with my blood, which is poured out for you.’
What happened after the meal?
Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. When he returned, Judas was there with a crowd to arrest him.
