Conditions for SLUDGE discharge of oil at sea regulations (TESTED ALR)

  1. Oily mixture must not mixed with cargo residue
  2. Can only be discharged into the water when sludge goes through OWS
    and the mixture does not exceed 15 ppm. Parts per million (ppm)

Conditions for SLOP discharge of oil at sea regulations

A
  • Need to go through the Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment (ODME),
  • 50nm from the nearest land, and
  • 30L per nautical mile
  • Maximum quantity discharge should not exceed 1/30,000 of the total quantity of the cargo.

ORB is to be filled when any oil-handling operation is carried out
