Healthy = clear, each member functions appropriately Dysfunctional = enmeshed boundaries - individual roles unclear; rigid boundaries - completely inflexible roles, isolated members

Healthy = members interact and cope, members mature Dysfunctional = children have difficulty adapting to roles in society
