In 435 B.C. wrote the history of the Persian Wars, Greek, considered as the “father of history”
Homer
Wrote many epics, wrote the Iliand and Odyssey during the 700’s B.C., based it on stories of a war between Greece and Troy, stories promoted courage and honor, taught that it was important to be loyal to your friends, and to value the relationship between husband and wife
Zeus
King of gods, god of the sky, rain, and lightning, and lived on Mount Olympus along with 11 other gods
Euripides
One of the best-known writers of tragedies, later playwright, and questioned traditional thinking, mostly about war
Troy
Existed where Turkey is today, there was a war between Greece and Troy that lasted for 10 years, but Greece won with there Trojan horse
Socrates
Critic of Sophists, Athenian sculptor, loved philosophy, invented Socratic Method, in 399 B.C. Athenian leaders accused him of teaching young minds to rebel against the state, he then drank poison to carry out the jury’s sentence
