Chief executive
Head of the executive branch of the federal government.
Democratically elected.
Veto
The formal, constitutional authority of the president to reject bills passed by both houses of Congress, thus preventing them from becoming long without further congressional action.
“Going public”
That a president bypasses the heads of members of Congress to gain support from the people, who can then place pressure on their elected officials in Washington.
Executive order
Rule or regulation issued by the president that has the effect of law. All executive orders must be published in the Federal Register.
Presidential qualifications
35 years of age
Natural born citizen
14 year resident within the states
