Axial skeleton
Consists of the bony and cartilaginous parts that support and protect the organs of the head, neck, and trunk of the skeleton.
Skull
Protects the brain.
Cranium
The brain
Hyoid bone
Located in the neck between the lower jaw and the larynx. It supports the tongue and is an attachment for certain help move the tongue during swallowing.
Vertebral column
The back bone.
Sacrum
Part of the pelvis.
Coccyx
A small, rudimentary tailbone composed of several fused vertebrae, is attached to the end of the sacrum.
Thoracic cage
Protects the organs of the thoracic cavity and the upper abdominal cavity.
Ribs
Protects the organs such as the heart and lungs. They articulate posteriorly with thoracic vertebrae.
Sternum
Most of the ribs attach anteriorly. The breast bone.
Appendicular skeleton
Consists of the bones of the upper and lower limbs and the bones that anchor the limbs to the axial skeleton.
Pectoral girdle
Connects the bones of the upper limbs to the axial skeleton and aids in upper limb movements.
Scapula
The shoulder blade.

Humerus-2, radius-2, ulna-2, carpal-16, metacarpal-10, phalanx-28
Humerus
Arm bone. Between the elbow joint and the shoulder.
Radius
Forearm bone. From the lateral side of the elbow to the thumb side of the wrist and runs parallel to the ulna.
Ulna
Forearm bone. Extends from the opposite side of the thumb to the elbow. Runs parallel to the radius. It is also bigger and longer than the radius.
