A medicine designed to kill microorganisms
microevolution
the theory that natural selection and DNA changes can, overtime, take an organism and transform it into a more specialized version of that organism
macroevolution
the hypothesis that natural selection and DNA changes can, over a long period of time, transform an organism into a completely different kind of organism
Mutation
an abrupt and marked change in the DNA of an organism compared to that of its parents
Digestive enzyme
a protein designed to break down chemicals found in food
micronutrients
chemicals that are essential to nutrition but are required in relatively small amounts
microbiome
the collection of all microscopic organisms living in and on a person’s body
Denatured protein
a protein that has been changed by heat or another process, making it unable to perform its intended function
