Genocide
killing of members of national, ethnic, racial, or religious group
Crimes Against Humanity
widespread or systematic attacks against a civilian population (murder, enslavement, imprisonment, torture, rape, sexual slavery)
War Crimes
intentionally directing attacks against civilian population or against those who are involved in humanitarian or peacekeeping mission
Woodrow Wilson

Wilson’s 14 points (Goals and Purposes)
- Peace settlement that would not punish the defeated nations but have a fair lasting peace
- core Principe was ethnic/national groups should have self determination (sovereignty/governance)

Treaty of Versailles
- created in Paris Peace Conference
- to discuss how to prevent a catastrophe event from happening again, how to rebuild, and negotiating peace settlements between nations
- Germany to accept full responsibility for the war (pay reparations to allies, give away territories/colonies, military restrictions)

institution established to persecute individuals for most serious offences of international concern (Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes, Crime of Aggression)
