Foreign Policy
Plan of action that guides a government’s decisions about its official relations with other countries (foreign affairs/external relations)
Domestic Policy
Plan of action that guides a government’s decision about what to do within a country
Kyoto Protocol
International Agreement to reduce the greenhouse gasses that are a major factor of climate change
Peacekeeping
Armed forces who maintain peace by keeping enemies apart until a crisis can be resolved through negotiation
Peacemaking
allowing armed forces that were originally sent to maintain peace in a region of conflict to use force for reasons other than self defense
International Law of The Sea
Agreement set out for rules of the high seas
Gross Nationalism Income (GNI)
refers to the total value of goods and services produced by a country in a year whether inside of outside the countries borders (canada’s goal of 0.7%)
Tied Aid
Help that is with strings attached (includes agreements that the country receiving the aid will buy goods and services only from the country or organization supplying the aid)
