Culture

Communication between members of the same culture.

Occurs between people who are members of two different cultural groups.
Language barrier

Communication between different governmental bodies of culture.
Interethnic communication
Communication between ethnic groups.

Anchoring Bias
When a person latches onto the features of the patient presentation.
Ethnocentrism
Beliefs that the customs and practice of ones own culture is superior to others.
Xenophobia
The fear of strangers.

The lowest level of the ethnocentric spectrum.

Is the second point on ethnocentric.
Indifference
A tendency for a person not to pay attention to the culture or subculture of others.
Avoidance
Want little or nothing to do with other cultures.
Disparagement
A person who displays a great deal of prejudice or intolerance for other cultures.
Culture shock
A degree to which a person feels trauma related to the experience of a new culture.
Stereotyping
A sense making behavior that requires people to make generalizations in order to make sense of the people and cultures that exist around them.
Prejudice
A prejudgement of people that that is based on stereotyping.
